Personal Branding: What You Don’t Know About Fear
Today was a day of gaining half an inch on the thousand mile journey of understanding who I am. I asked myself today, what is the worst thing that could happen to me.
I thought about it for a while, in the case of any human life the worst case scenario 9 out of 10 times is death, but meeting the grim keeper didn’t come close to what scared me the most.
After much thought, I realized the worst thing that could happen to me was living a life, full of fear and regret.
The things we fear the most are the things that ultimately control us, and it takes more then a eureka moment of clarity to get over them, it takes action.
I’ve broken fear down into 2 categories. The fears we’re aware of, and the ones that live in our subconscious.
“Our subconscious is powerful, so much in fact, that it has the ability to shape our every experience in life.”
Between every thought, there’s a message we’re telling ourselves, and we have to change it before anything else will change.
Most of us are programmed to fail through the collection of useless fears we’ve acquired in life.
How we were programmed, by whom, is irrelevant. We can blame society, environment, authority, and even ourselves for the outcome of where we are in life, but it’s insignificant compared to what we’re going to do about it.
Here Are 5 Ways To Overcome Success Ruining Fear!
1. Daily Affirmations. Assert the quality of life you want to live and Assert why it will make you happy.
2. Write down your goals in life whenever you get a chance. On the phone? Bored? Doodle a goal you want to accomplish.
3. Act as if you have everything you’ve ever wanted right now. You want to be rich, don’t sneer at a homeless man when he asks you for spare change. What are a few quarters to a man who has millions of dollars?
4. Whenever you receive a gift, assert to yourself you deserve it. It is great to give and should equally feel great to receive.
5. Surround yourself in positive literature, digital media, and most importantly people. People who want to experience the most out of life, and experience growth, are the friends of leaders.
I hope this post adds a half an inch to your life experience.
