Burn Your Schedule Live In The Moment!

As a control freak, I am pro planning everything. Flashback to a few months ago, I would even go as far as scheduling doing something random to break the monotony of my day. Yes, it got that bad.
By far plans, plans ,and more plans leave your day lacking in what a normal day should encompass. That feeling of being alive gets lost, the work becomes a regrettable chore, and you find yourself living inside of faded shell of an existence.
My solution, though extreme might be able to save you from your self once and for all. And Here it is in 3 easy to follow steps.
Step 1: Pick up your daily planner, that has your life planned out from A to Z
Step 2: Toss it into the nearest open flame.
Step 3: Scream Voila! Stress gone!
See I warned you it was extreme, but since this is a practical blog it’s my chore of a responsibility to give you solid advice that won’t leave you incapacitated like an upside down shark.
So try doing this. Schedule 3 things you have to get done for the day, and as soon as the day starts try to get those 3 things out of the way as soon as possible. Once your 3 tasks are out the way, open yourself up to what you’d feel like doing next.
Learn to feel the day out. If you’ve got the urge to get out of the house and do something exciting, do it. If you’ve got the urge to stay at home, and skip on a meeting, double do it.
Over the years I’ve learned to trust my instincts, and because of it I’ve able to meet some of the coolest people you’ll ever meet, and travel to some of most beautiful and random of places.
My Philosophy: When you’re entire focus is from getting from point A to point B, you miss out on all the spontaneous, and enjoyable things happening between the two oreos.
This isn’t a hippie broadcast for throwing away all responsibilities and being the children of the sun, rather it’s about prioritizing your goals to mesh with the spontaneity of life.
So how spontaneous are you feeling today?

Good advice! Has someone been reading Leo Babauta by any chance…

No, but it would seem I was. Thanks for stopping by bud, and great last post.
It’s really stressful not having a planner though, because you need to always remind yourself about your activity. But not having to follow what’s on your planner is even more stressful. So if you can’t even follow it, might as well burn it!

That’s a good way to just go with the flow of life, nothing to be hurry about. Planner only makes you more like to act like a robot.
