About Me

Personal Branding Consultant

Karl Sylvester has a passion for for helping others discover and evolve their personal brands. If you hunger to achieve greatness through out your brand, if you strive for excellence and results, he’s your kind of consultant.

My Story:

Karl Sylvester, they say never trust a person with two first names, but I am definitely the exception here. You can call me Sly, it’s short, to the point and you know… it sounds cool :)

So, without a second more to waste, turn on the Flux Capacitor. HOLD ON…We’re taking a ride back to 1995!

An Average 9 Year Old? Take A Closer Look…

I was into poetry, painting, and any style of music you could imagine. As a kid on the days my mom would drag me to church (I mean literally), I managed to find an efficient way to make the trips worthwhile.

I’d hide inside the sanctuary after the service, wait for everyone to leave, and when the coast was clear I’d climb on top of the piano stool, and turn into an electric composer. I’ll admit the compositions weren’t the best, but you don’t get “Claire de lune” playing one hand improve inside a dark church :)

At 9 I learned one of my ingrained talents was creating. To this day, I still have more amazing ideas then I know what to do with.

Jump back in! We’re heading to 2006!

An Average 20 Year Old? Take A Closer Look… Ok I guess I was pretty average.

(End of High School Prologue) I envisioned making a living off of my skill in music production (By this time I cultivated solid musical skills on the piano), and enrolled in a University called Full Sail to learn the technical side of the music production process.

In 2006, success! I graduated with an Associates in Audio Engineering. With degree in hand, I decided to move back to Fort Lauderdale, FL to build my stardom.

Young, energetic, and full of ambition, I found myself working as an intern in multiple music studios throughout South Florida.

My strong interest in producing music was the driving force to continue as an assistant engineer, but over time it would fail as a sufficient motivator to keep me inside the industry. Something was lacking. I felt utterly lost, and decided my best option was to get back to the drawing board, and embark on an exploration of deep self discovery.

Life Does That To You Sometimes :) But This Ride Isn’t Over Yet. We’re going to 2007!

The biggest project I ever worked on took place just under a year of graduating college. I called it project “Find Myself”.

I Put Intense Energy Into Project “Find Myself”

I dug deep to uncover how I wanted to contribute to society. At the time I had no concrete answer, all I knew was if I wanted a better life, I would have to provide something of value.

I made new choices in life that included daily education, meditation, and asking myself serious questions concerning what excited me about life. What I found out after the months of self therapy (Didn’t go pro on this one), was my ultimate passion; helping others excel with their talents.

I challenged myself to learn everything I could about relationship building, and transforming a person into an icon. In December, I stumbled upon a book called “A Brand Called You” by Jerry S. Wilson, Vice President of Coca Cola, and that was my moment of clarity.

That was the day I started my quest of building my own brand, and teaching others how to do the same.

I suddenly became aware of the phenomenal abundance of people who needed help, and encouragement in life. I made a vow to myself, I’d be someone who would step up to the plate, and help anyone I could reach their full potential.

Last Stop! We’re going home!

Currently I’m pursuing a BA in Marketing, but I’m no novice. I’ve been marketing online since 2007, I’ve even had the privilege to train some of my professors on new social media technologies, and host public workshops on social media at the downtown library.

What I do now is help professionals in any industry build personal brands online.

I target Generation Y entrepreneurs and careerist, but I’ve also worked well with Generation X clientele. I share my experience in building and interlinking websites, blogs, and social media profiles to construct personal brands around quality relationships.

The Last Thing I’ll Share Is The “Why” behind what I do.

I honestly believe like Mohammed Ghandi did, that you can change the world if you first change yourself.

My mission is to be a leader in change, and to inspire others into following their passions in life.

I’ll share with you every resource I can afford to help you on your path to building a better personal brand, but most importantly a better you.

Feel free to contact me for tips, advice, or just to say Hi.
